Create a delicious and romantic meal for Valentine's by using ingredients that carry the properties of love and passion. Here is a salad, chicken and cake recipe.

Do something unusual, unique and exceptional this Valentine’s Day. Prepare a meal with ingredients that boost the energy of love, passion and lust.

According to the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft (Amaranth 2000), there are some magickal foods that can indeed enhance romance. The following recipes contain these sexy ingredients – literally spicing up Valentine’s plans this year!

Equally important is putting loving thoughts into these dishes while cooking them. Thinking passionately about a sweetie in terms of the five senses (touch, smell, taste, sight and sound) will infuse the recipes with amorous vibrations.

Magickal Salad for Valentine's Day

All the ingredients (aside from the oil and lemon) in this luscious salad have a combination of the properties of love, lust, passion and attraction.

Mix together:

  • 1 peeled, cored and diced apple
  • 1 peeled and cubed avocado
  • 1 cup cooked and cooled barley
  • ½ cup shredded cooked beets
  • ½ cup shredded raw carrots
  • 1 cup peeled, seeded and sliced cucumber

For the dressing, stir the following together well:

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup liquid honey
  • juice from half a lemon
  • zest from half a lemon
  • ½ tsp dried mustard
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

Toss the salad ingredients with the dressing, still thinking warm thoughts.

Magickal Valentine’s Chicken Recipe

The herbs in this recipe carry loving and passionate energy.

Mix the following together:

  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ¼ tsp celery seeds
  • ¼ tsp dried dill
  • ½ tsp dried mustard
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Brush spice mixture onto pieces of chicken.

Place coated chicken on foil-lined baking sheet and bake on middle rack of a pre-heated oven at 400 degrees, until fully cooked: bone-in chicken for 40-45 minutes, boneless chicken for 20 minutes. Since ovens vary in temperature, these are guidelines only.

Easy Magickal Valentine’s Cake Recipe

The special ingredients in this cake are vanilla and raspberries, which have the properties of love and attraction. Another way to really boost the love in this recipe is to add red color energy by using food coloring. The color red is associated with the root chakra; the chakra that governs sexuality and sensuality.

  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp natural vanilla extract
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries

In a bowl combine flour, sugar and baking powder. Add milk, oil, egg and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed til combined. Beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Stir in raspberries. Pour batter into a greased and floured heart-shaped pan.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 25 – 30 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Frost with pink icing.

Celebrating Valentine’s this year will be more exciting and passionate, once you’ve fed your sweetie a magickal salad, chicken entrée and Valentine’s cake that have been infused with your love.
